Water makes up more than two thirds of the weight of the human body, and without it, humans would die in a few days. The human brain is made up of 95% water; blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in our body’s water supply can trigger signs of dehydration: fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on smaller print, such as a computer screen. (Are you having trouble reading this? Drink up!) Mild dehydration is also one of the most common causes of daytime fatigue.

Water is consumed daily by everyone either orally or through the skin by showering/bathing, swimming, etc. Clean and pure water is an essential nutrient, the basis of fluids of all living organisms, and absolutely necessary to sustain life.
Pure Water is water which has been treated to remove any dissolved solids particles from the water. Tap water is full of these contaminates, which may cause several diseases may it be from a simple stomach ache to as serious problem as diarrhea or jaundice. Believe it or not, but water from the tap these days in not “Pure Water”, but is full of impurities. The level of these impurities varies from region to region, and here in India, our tap water is not at all good compared to many other parts of the world. In fact, bottled drinking water often has even more total dissolved solids than tap water in commonly found.

When we talk about achieving optimum health, consuming clean water should be at the top of the “most important” list. It has been said that water is the world’s best beauty elixir! With that type of statement, who wouldn’t want to drink-up!
Be aware that thirst is not always a reliable measurement that one needs water. If you’re healthy and already include water as your beverage of choice, your thirst mechanism is most likely working well. The older you are, the less able you may be to sense that you’re thirsty. And during vigorous exercise, an important amount of your fluid reserves may be lost before you feel thirsty. So make sure that you’re sufficiently hydrated throughout the day no matter what activity in which you are involved.
Drinking purified water does a lot more than quench your thirst…it keeps your body in great working order.  There are many benefits to drinking clean, fresh water, and here are some of the best ones to keep in mind:

  1. Disease Prevention

In addition to the daily maintenance of our bodies, water also plays a key role in the prevention of disease. Drinking eight glasses of water daily can decrease the risk of colon cancer by 45%, bladder cancer by 50% and it can potentially even reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Proper digestion and nutrient absorption depend on a healthy intake of water. In order for our body to get the nutritional value from our foods and supplements, we must consume plenty of good water. Since sugars and carbohydrates are absorbed more rapidly, even a slight degree of dehydration can cause us to get the caloric intake without the nutrition from the foods we eat.

  1. Lose Weight:

Water suppresses your appetite, so you don’t eat as much. And also drinking plenty of water also prevents fluid retention, making you look slim and trim. The more water we drink… the more we allow our body to purify itself. Detoxification is probably the single most important component to long-term health… and one that relies almost exclusively on an adequate intake of good water. Water is our body‘s only means of flushing out toxins and fats. Those if not flushed gets accumulated in our body causing gain of weight and fatigue.

  1. Drinking Water Helps You Build Muscle:

Did you know that every cell in your body is bathed in water? Our body is made up of 80% water which is continuously used by body. Drinking plenty of water enables your muscles to work harder and longer before they feel tired, and this can help you build muscle. Make sure to keep hydrated throughout the day and not just as you are working out. Carry bottled water with you wherever you go, so your body is never thirsty. It is said scientifically that one must drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to fulfill the need of water in our body. . Hundreds of chemical reactions take place in our body which ultimately results in heating up of body, so to maintain this balance also water is required by our body.

  1. Headache

Our brain is over 75% water and when it detects a shortage of available fluids it implements a water rationing process by producing histamines‚ causing pain and fatigue. This natural process is meant to slow us down and conserve water for defense uses. Histamines are released as a warning signal that something is wrong. When we take antihistamines or analgesic medicines we mainly turn off the signal and do little or nothing for the problem. A big glass of pure water and a 20 minute decompression break will overcome most common stress related headaches. One might not believe it but this is a fact.

  1. Arthritis pain & stiffness

Your joints need moisture in order to remain strong and flexible, so that your movements are smooth and pain free. Arthritis pain and stiffness is now understood to be initially a result of increased friction and swelling in the bone joints. Water is what our body uses to lubricate these joints and hydrate the pliable joint cartilage. When our water levels are reduced there is increased friction between the cartilage surfaces resulting in swelling, stiffness and pain. The movement of the joints causes a suction that pulls water from the bone marrow to the joint cavity if there is proper hydration. An increased intake of water and gentle rhythmic movements of the joints can ease, and in many cases, overcome minor arthritic pain and swelling.
